Images from WPB First Friday at The Flat Iron: Sept. 3rd
In advance of this weekend's Beyond the Coyote Arts Festival, we popped in at the WPB-Sponsored First Friday at the Flat Iron Building this past Friday night.
Though many studios were open, we had just a couple of hours, thus here are a few of the friendly faces we encountered (though many more FIAA resident artists can be seen at this Flat Iron Artist directory page).
Pictured are:
James Monroe, alongside a few delicious albeit inedible pears, Studio 325.
Gary W. Marr of the Sapere Art Gallery, in Studio 341. Gary is standing alongside a colorful piece by Eulaio Fabie Desilva.
Karen Gagich, Studio 339.
Tina Murphy, Studio 214, alongside a Joan of Arc sculpture.
Charlie Megna of the Peanut Gallery (no Web site yet, Charlie is pictured surrounded by his drawings).
Aaron Kobiella of Studio 344, in front of a psychedelic foam board squid-like creation.
Charlie Rees, Studio 321, hanging out with his dog, Jack, who popped by for a visit as well.
Jeffrey Jenkins of the Catawampus Gallery, Studio 340. Jeff was hanging out with Laura Clark of The Infinity Gallery, a new Flat Iron tenant.
Speaking of new tenants, the 15-year-old Collaboraction Theatre Co. just relocated to the Flat Iron Artists Association Building and is now occupying Suite 332. The five year lease will bring theatre to the building, in an intimate performance space that can accommodate up to 90 guests. Pictured is Anthony Moseley, Collaboraction's Executive Artistic Director.
