Here’s a few interesting facts from the Chicago Association of REALTORS:
In March 2011, 5,324 homes sold in the Chicagoland Primary Metropolitan Statistical Area (PMSA), including single-family homes and condominiums. That total is up 41.3 percent from February 2011 and down 15.6 percent from March 2010.
The median March home price in the Chicagoland PMSA was $158,000, up 3.6 percent from February 2011.
In the City of Chicago, March single-family home and condominium sales tallied 1,450, up 37.3 percent from February 2011 and down 20.1 percent from March 2010.
The City of Chicago median March price was $191,000, up 7.6 percent from February 2011.
Economists expect housing sales to increase monthly for the next three months across the Chicago region.
Yes, the housing market is improving. The numbers of distressed sales are starting to go down which means that there will be less on the market in the future.
