After 21 years in office it’s difficult to imagine Chicago without Daley in the driver’s seat. What will become of the Mayor’s signature accomplishments and noted debacles? What is the fate of “The City That Works” after more than two decades under one man’s leadership? Pundits, politicians and citizen activists aren’t the only folks to weigh in. Fourteen Chicago artists have created works representing their take on Chicago’s future. The art will be displayed in a special exhibit titled “Chicago A.D. (After Daley)” at the Jackson Junge Gallery, 1389 N. Milwaukee Ave., in Chicago, from Friday, January 21, through Sunday February, 27. Through paintings, digital images, photography, illustration, collage, jewelry and more, the visual commentary provides tributes and critiques related to the long-serving Mayor as well as vision for the days ahead. Economics, diversity, housing, airport extension and those infamous parking meters are just a few of the topics addressed in this clever, provocative and timely exhibit. An opening reception, free to the public, will be held on Friday, January 21 from 6pm – 9pm.

I got to see A.D. on Saturday had popped by two other openings that same night (friday) and was trying to catch up with friends I haven't seen in a long time in Logan Square or else would've popped by, The work is amazing! I love the quilt- "the party?"
