The Boarhound and The Boar
Reminiscent of early Tennessee Williams, "The Boarhound and The Boar" is set at the height of a bitter rivalry between two brothers, Larry and Glen, resulting in Glen’s death. In the wake of the tragedy, a detective attempts to collect the facts from Larry, while the memory of Glen returns to even the score. This psychological crime drama is fast paced and, at times, darkly comedic; it hints at the circular nature of mistakes and the power of redemption.

Philosophy
"Philosophy", a two act play, focuses on two people: Dawn and Patrick. Dawn is a young woman and recent college graduate on a search for self-awareness while Patrick, a less-young man, is an armchair philosopher whose cynicism makes him withdraw from things like love. When the two meet at a book club meeting, they hit it off with philosophical discussions about God, fate and meaning. Dawn is eager to push their relationship forward, but Patrick is cynical and heartbroken, and resists, causing their frequent philosophical chats to take an unexpected turn.

Master Works: The Museum Of Bad Art Plays (CONTINUING)
Commedia Beauregard has teamed up with the Museum of Bad Art to take six works of art from their permanent collection and translated them into short plays. Fulfilling the mission of Commedia Beauregard to translate not only from language to language, but from one art form to another, six playwrights each wrote a 12-minute play that tells the story of, or behind, one of the paintings from the MOBA collection. Four local directors have taken those plays and are bringing them to the Gorilla Tango Theatre stage!

Master Works: The Museum Of Bad Art Plays (CONTINUING)
Commedia Beauregard has teamed up with the Museum of Bad Art to take six works of art from their permanent collection and translated them into short plays. Fulfilling the mission of Commedia Beauregard to translate not only from language to language, but from one art form to another, six playwrights each wrote a 12-minute play that tells the story of, or behind, one of the paintings from the MOBA collection. Four local directors have taken those plays and are bringing them to the Gorilla Tango Theatre stage!

Circus Cats, I love Thee
The Cat Circus of Chicago, or the Amazing Acro-Cats (which are one and the same lest anyone think that there are two cat circuses in Chicago), fresh from a stint in New Orleans, rolled back onto home turf for a day of sold out shows this past Saturday at Gorilla Tango Theatre, 1919 N. Milw.
Jane, of Glenview, was sitting next to me. She'd heard about the cat circus from her daughter, and brought along her grandsons, who I chatted with after the show.
There's no words I could add to the experience that would express as much as images, thus in no particular order here are Tuna, Pudge, Buffy, Wiki, Buggles and Oswald, the token male cat (and a chicken that had a cool name which I forgot to write down in my notebook).
The only thing missing from these pictures are squeals of delight and giggles which were present in full force.
All of the cats were trained here in Chicago by Samantha Martin, who donates a portion of ticket sales to cat rescue. Samantha refused to reveal how many cats she has but added that she is single, "and probably will be for a long time."

An Alex Moment
Alex is the type of guy who always finds himself in the "friend zone". He has a job and he is financially stable, the only problem is he longs for a relationship, but his luck in that category is less than perfect. One day his childhood crush re-enters his life and with the help of his brother, Kevin, he decides to pursue her. Alex's efforts are appreciated by his crush but thwarted by her friends. Alex is on the verge of giving up until Kevin interferes again and convinces Alex to give it another try. Alex goes all out to plan this great night to win the heart of his crush, but once again his efforts are shut down due to circumstances. Through this situation Alex becomes a less selfish person and realizes just how great his friends are.

An Alex Moment
Alex is the type of guy who always finds himself in the "friend zone". He has a job and he is financially stable, the only problem is he longs for a relationship, but his luck in that category is less than perfect. One day his childhood crush re-enters his life and with the help of his brother, Kevin, he decides to pursue her. Alex's efforts are appreciated by his crush but thwarted by her friends. Alex is on the verge of giving up until Kevin interferes again and convinces Alex to give it another try. Alex goes all out to plan this great night to win the heart of his crush, but once again his efforts are shut down due to circumstances. Through this situation Alex becomes a less selfish person and realizes just how great his friends are.
