Mailbag: Snow Kudos

I just wanted to send a big shout out to CHRISTY WEBBER, who had her snow removal team out in full force clearing the side streets and alleyways during the blizzard. The Christy Webber snow removal trucks were helping dig out our community from Tuesday night through Wednesday, ensuring our Bucktown neighborhood would be safe. Truly a generous neighbor and an asset to our community!

Thank You,
Kathy L.

Hi,

Last week during the blizzard, our block was the only place in our area without power. There were 50 households to be exact according to ComEd. We lost power for 19 hours. I have 2 children, 3 and 9mos. It was so hard because we couldn't get out of the neighborhood but were worried about staying in our house which was steadily getting colder. I called Ray at Ray's Bucktown B & B. He told us to call him any time if we needed to come over and get a room. We talked to him that Wednesday morning and he gave us a room for 50% off and was so accommodating. Then, when our power came back on just a few hours after checking in, he ended up giving us the room for free since we didn't even stay overnight. He was such a great neighbor through all of this and I know he did this for several of the people that live around me. If there is any way to commend him on this in your next newsletter, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Alexis
