Images from WPB Chamber Elections, Nov. 16

Members of the Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce gathered at Folklore earlier this evening for the chamber's Board of Directors 2010-12 General Election.

Incumbent Board President, Robert Gomez, owner of Subterranean, provided some comic relief when he joked about the "rough race" (Gomez had no opponents) for himself and Treasurer Al Spenadel, of Spenadel Tax and Accounting Services, who also ran uncontested.

The Board of Directors positions ran against a bit of heat, with nine area business leaders vying for six spots. Of the nine, three were incumbents- Nate Hilding, of The Boundary, Paige Ormond of Doggy Style Pet Shop, and Debbie Sharpe of Feast Restaurant. All three said incumbents retained their positions, and will be joined on the board by Dr. Melissa Daza, of Bucktown & Wicker Park Dental, Steven Lick of Harris Bank, and Dina Petrakis of Littlerock Construction.

Also present at the meeting were area business owners, the chamber's new executive director, Adam Burck, and Jamie, Eleanor, and Frances from the SSA #33/WPB. Food was drinks were courtesy of event sponsor, Folkore.

In the next pipeline I'll I.D. a few people, but as I cannot create captions on blogspot (anyone know how?) I am just posting images here. It is also to be noted that while the images were snapped at Folklore, new director Dina Petrakis, pictured in ivory sweater, was not present at the event, though I coincidentally ran into Dina on Damen, near Six Corners, en route home from Folklore. Small world.
