An Important Correction!

So, the last place in the world I want to be at right now is back at the computer screen, but three of us made a mistake in a photo I.D. and then within an hour or two of sending out today's pipeline, two readers have already written in to notify me of a correction to a photo caption in the Marvin Cruz 'Up Close' story.

When I chatted Marvin up on the street and looked at the photos in his phone from the movie shoot, I asked, "Oh, is that the guy from Stand and Deliver?!"

I thought Marvin said yes, or at least I don't recall him saying no, or maybe he too thought that Danny Trejo had starred in Stand and Deliver, which just goes to show how much I follow the movie and celebrity scene. In fact, at an awesome garage sale near the Wicker Park Fest I purchased the first season of 'Family Guy' and hope to get to know this popular show soon too, even if I am a decade behind the times.

ANON replied, "I saw the trailer last week that's how I remembered, I thing Edward James Olmos is a little older. Attached are some pictures they have both been known to have mustaches." (photos supplied by ANON)

As for Pat, he responded, "they look very similar! but I remember thinking last night, Olmos looks younger and tougher in this photo than I seem to recall.
I'm also pissed because Danny Trejo is a very interesting guy in his own right. shit! put me in on the blame--*the Pipeline writing and editing crew slipped up on this one*."

Anyhoo, apologies to Danny Trejo who is starring in the next Harold and Kumar adventure, and to Edward James Olmos too, neither of whom have likely ever heard of The Pipeline, though a few of our readers know the difference between the two actors and now so do we. Next time we will try to make less errors, speaking of which, Jeannette of i2we has two "n's" in her first name and not one! Naturally right after I send out the newsletter I look at her business card and spot my error.

OH NO :(, and to properly credit the correction from you, are you involved in the film industry?
PS.. please tell me that danny trejo at least looks a little bit like edward james olmos?? i feel like the biggest idiot in the world right now and hope there is enough of a semblance between the two actors.

Sorry, don't mean to be rude, but the picture with Marvin in Detroit is with Danny Trejo not Edward James Olmos. Mr Trejo has a new movie coming out Sept 3rd called Machete directed by Robert Rodriguez. The film will star Danny Trejo in his first lead role as the title character. The film also stars Michelle Rodriguez, Cheech Marin, Lindsay Lohan, Don Johnson, Jessica Alba, Steven Seagal, Robert De Niro, Jeff Fahey, Cheryl Chin and Rose McGowan. The film is an expansion of a fake trailer Rodriguez directed for the 2007 film Grindhouse and centers around the character of Machete Cortez, who previously appeared as the uncle of the protagonists in the more family friendly Spy Kids films. Filmed in autumn 2009, the movie will be released in the United States on September 3, 2010 by 20th Century Fox.

  1. Do you know mad max fury road location now? After creating the epic scale of an action film in the form of 'Mad Max: The Road Warrior' it was going to be hard to live up to the previous films in the franchise, but Miller didn't just do that, he excelled at it and instead beat his previous films. With Tom Hardy as the new face of Max and Namibia as the new backdrop for post- apocalyptic Australia, 'Fury Road' is an exhilarating action fest that goes beyond its boundaries in creating what might just be one of the greatest action films ever made.

Hearing that nearly 90% of the stunts and effects were practical literally blew me away, the sequences are extravagant and complex with frequent fireballs and car crashes filling the screen. George Miller's 2015 vigorous tale blends emotion and brutality with drama and action to reignite Australia's greatest film franchise and create the epitome of the action genre.
