Fall 2010 Synergy coming to Clever Alice

Synergy was founded by Kate Fisher, a deadhead entrepreneur who got her start selling recycled silk dresses at Phish concerts and Henry Schwab, an environmental activist, hippy working for Phish's environmental tour. They eventually got together and Synergy evolved.
The concept behind the brand is a blend of Eastern and Western cultures. Fisher was inspired while on vacation in India when she was 21. In India she came across recycled silk sari's that she brought back to the U.S. and fashioned into strappy dresses that encompassed the Bohemian look during the 1990s. The company blew up in the mid 90s then business dissipated when the Bohemian look faded. Fisher and her Husband began to think outside the box and came up with new ways to utilize recycled and organic textiles while keeping the simplistic Asian vision. The clothing is hand made in Nepal and India and strives to capture the ancient tradition of textile design in the Western World.
The brand has evolved into three separate lines, Synergy, Synergy Organic and Kate Organic, that encompass the eco-friendly and sustainable lifestyle Kate and husband, Henry have learned to live. While each line is a little bit different all the products are constructed with organic or sustainable fabrics and low impact dyes.
Clever Alice first began to carry Synergy this past summer. The line sold so well we had waiting lists and requests for sizes and colors a mile long. The beautiful belted dresses with the nature inspired screen print and the color blocked halter dresses were the stars of the show and cemented Synergy as a great line for the Clever Alice clientele. We are introducing their Fall 2010 line in October. They have done more great dresses and a variety of zip ups and coats. We are very excited to see this line go into another season and hope to have just as much success as before.
