Events in Wicker Park – The Park - Get Involved with Planning and Supporting

On Tuesday, January 18 the Wicker Park Advisory Council held a meeting to discuss collaborative Park District-Community sponsored and organized events to be presented in the park during the 2011 calendar year. The groups listed below attended the meeting and have committed to work together on programming this year. Other groups that did not attend the meeting but have offered support are also listed below. The goals of the groups are: to see more special events and programming in the park and to work together to better the community.

NEXT? Each committee – one per event - will elucidate the details of the events and will present these first drafts at the Tuesday, February 1 meeting in Wicker Park – 1425 N. Damen from 7-9pm. On February 1, each event project director and team will have an event description, targeted date, list of equipment needs, budget, and fund raising and marketing plans to discuss at the community meeting.

YOU AND YOUR ORGANIZATIONS – We invite you to attend the Tuesday, February 1 meeting and sign on to work on or sponsor one or more of the events. Let’s work together to create an Even Better Park through collaborative City-Wide support. As you support the park you are supporting your organization at the same time.
